Stoles are
initially given to a pastor/priest on the event of ordination
from seminary. These stoles are also given as gifts from
loved ones and congregations or as a personal purchase.
Stoles shown are one-of-a-kind examples available immediately,
unless noted.
Traditional
liturgical colors of the church season are
blue,
white,
purple,
red, and
green.
Blue as hope in Advent; white for purity at Christmas and
Easter; purple as repentance, suffering, and royalty during Lent
and Advent; red as blood of sacrificed Christ during Lent,
fire of Holy Spirit during Pentecost, and ordination's yoke
of Christ. Green represents times of spiritual growth in the
church year.
Careful research has gone into designing
appropriate symbols for the various church seasons, while personal reflection and
interpretation goes into designing others. One of a kind
designs are most often created. Repeated designs will vary due
to hand painted nature. Individual artist statement
is included with each stole. Commission work is also available.
Stole fiber content varies. Self-lined but not interfaced. 67" X 6". Attached collar chain
to prevent slippage. Not washable or dry cleanable. Fabric and
artwork treated with fabric protectant on some. Dry/damp blot; touch up
iron with low setting, while avoiding artwork.
