Liturgical stoles are
initially given to a pastor/priest on the event of ordination
from seminary. These stoles are also given as gifts from
loved ones and congregations or as a personal purchase.
Stoles shown are one-of-a-kind examples available immediately,
unless noted.
Traditional
liturgical colors of the church season are
blue,
white,
purple,
red, and
green.
Blue as hope in Advent; white for purity at Christmas and
Easter; purple as repentance, suffering, and royalty during Lent
and Advent; red as blood of sacrificed Christ during Lent,
fire of Holy Spirit during Pentecost, and ordination's yoke
of Christ. Green represents times of spiritual growth in the
church year.
Careful research has gone into designing appropriate symbols for
the various church seasons, while personal reflection and
interpretation goes into designing some of the liturgical stoles. One of a kind
designs are most often created. Repeated designs will vary
due to hand painted nature. Commission work is also available.
Metallic highlights throughout.
Stole fiber content varies - used most often is a
polyester/rayon in a nicely draping linen weave. Self-lined but not interfaced.
Two sizes are offered, varying in width and length. Attached collar chain to prevent
slippage. Not washable or dry cleanable. A few ready made styles
shown have been treated with fabric protectant. Dry/damp blot; touch up
iron with low setting on reverse, while avoiding artwork. Artist
statement and care instructions given with each stole.
